De Slag om Arnhem in 1944 maakte deel uit van Operatie Market Garden. De geallieerden wilden zo snel mogelijk de bruggen over de Maas, Waal en Rijn in handen krijgen zodat de rest van Europa bevrijd kon worden.
In september 1944 landden 10.000 Britse -parachutisten van de Eerste Airborne Divisie ten westen van Arnhem. Arnhem was echter een brug te ver. Onder begeleiding van een gespecialiseerde gids maakt u een rondrit langs de historische plaatsen van de Slag om Arnhem, zoals de John Frost brug, de NH kerk in Oosterbeek, de Airbornebegraafplaats en enkele landingsterreinen.

Four months after the Allies had landed at Normandy, the German army was rapidly retreating from France. British Marshal Montgomery's audacious plan to drive deep into the heart of industrial Germany relied on American and British paratroops to capture and hold vital bridges over the Rhine until relieved by reinforcements. The key to success would rest on the British 1st Airborne Division at Arnhem. Ultimately, it was a bridge too far.

During this 2:00 hour tour you will be visiting the most important historic sites related to the Battle of Arnhem e.g. the Arnhem Bridge, Airborne Museum and Airborne Cemetry.
